Works with all iOS devices running iOS 7 or later.
Simply Flat is not very simple at all. There is a lot of work the goes on behind the scenes of these icons. There are all designed to be simple, in order, unified, and similar, yet at the same time giving each icon it own personality. Let's look at how Simply Flat was designed. The first thing we are going to look at is simplicity.
Each icon is designed to be simple, not confusing, to focus on the content of each app that lies inside each icon. Yet, each icon is designed so that when a user looks at an icon, they can tell right away what the app the lies inside is. Take for example, the Game Center icon. On stock iOS 7, the icon is some coloured bubbles. When a user get familiar with the app, they then would be able to identify what app is contained inside. But if someone who has never used iOS before looks at the icon alone, they would most likely not be able to tell which app it would lead them to. Compare that with Simply Flat's Game Center icon: a die. It's simple, and not only that, someone who has never used iOS before should be able to tell right away what it leads them to. Each icon has been carefully considered on how it would be viewed, both by people who have used iOS for many years, and people who have never used iOS before. So whether you are a hardcore jailbreaker, or you've never installed a theme in your life, you will love Simply Flat.
The next thing on the list is order. Each icon is designed on the icon grid introduced in iOS 7. That's why you will get a universal feel when you look at each icon. That's why the gear in settings is the same size as the message bubble in messages. That's why the tips of the compass in Safari are the same length as the dice in Game Center. It's designed to give a unified look to iOS. It's how each icon is similar. But each icon also has it's own personality.
Each shape is 10% transparent. So that's why the shape in Maps is slightly different than the one in Photos. It's designed so that they all look unified, but not exactly the same. It's what makes Simply flat so beautiful.
Q&A: Q. What are you planing to do if this theme is successful?
A. I am planing to get an iPhone 6 Plus for testing. I only have an iPad at the moment, so while this theme should work on iPhone, I can't guarantee it will work flawlessly. I also would try to work on some third-party icons.
Q. How long did this theme take to make?
A. About there weeks.
Q. Do you do third-party icons?
A. At the moment, no. I'm just testing the waters for the moment. If the theme proves to be popular, I would try it.
